Throughout the entire Ascension Holiday weekend, over 2000 rosebushes fill the Benedict XII Cloister with their fragrant blooms, and the general public has the chance to discover the great rose growers’ latest creations.
After last year’s success with the combination rose/clematis show, Alterarosa once again stages a floral combination for 2010 on the theme of “fragrances from the south of France”. Lavender, thyme, rosemary, santoline and savoroy add their fragrant note to the Alterarosa weekend.

When we listen to a "tambourinaïre" playing the galoubet, the small leaky flute of three holes, we are always surprised by the scale of the register covered by this instrument. As for the tambourine, decorated with inspired motives for the end of the XVIIIth century, the cords of hemp o give it a buzzing tone. Tambourine Galoubet and, sounds of which get married to harmony, symbolize the musical soul of Provence. Proud of this identity, the Festival of the Tambourine was born in Aix-en-Provence, 21 years ago. Over the years, the fame of the festival goes growing, carrying loud and clear the attachment in a music which gives rhythm for a long time to the big events of the life in Provence.

Tarascon Medieval Festival

On the occasion of the Medieval 2010 edition, the Roy René welcomes his nephew Louis XI, Roy of France. Camp of the Roy of France and tournaments, lists of the knights, the inns and the workshops, acrobats' camps, disentangled and son et lumière... The Medieval make live to the visitor, over the years, a real journey in the past. Durins a long weekend, the city livens up as at the the Middle Ages' Times and proposes tournaments of chivalry, dances of courtyard, exchanges of fire, medieval banquet and big animated market, with more than 400 participants.
