Caesar, le Rhône poru mémoire: twenty years of excavations in the river in Arles presents to the public, in a didactic route,700 rooms illustrating the multitude of the products which redistributed the Roman city.
The Rhône is the omnipresent element of this exhibition and it is in its tempestuous waters that the visitor is taken, in the discovery of objects witnesses of a past magnificence which twenty years of searches patiently brought to light.

The International Photography Festival known as "Les Rencontres d'Arles" was created in 1968. More than forty years later this festival is definitively, the most important event around photography in the whole world.
Usually organized around more than 50 events installed in various exceptional patrimonial places of Arles, Les Rencontres d’Arles (in English the Meetings of Arles) , each summer in July, intend to contribute to transmit the world photographic inheritance and also want to be the crucible of contemporary creation by the discovery of young talented photographers.

It is in Aix-en-Provence where Cézanne invented the modern painting and it is the place chosen by Victor Vasarely to settle his foundation in 1976. Vasarely is a Hungarian artist emigrated in Paris in 1930 which launched a recognized movement all over the world, the op art. His foundation is a set of black and white cubes put on a hill, in front of saint-Victoire. Inside, the work of the artist. His monumental and multicolored frescoes dominate you and live with your movements. It is the kinetic art, the optical illusions from colored geometrical forms.
