The « foire aux santons » is amongst the most famous and living events in Marseilles. Its origins come from the French Revolution which make it the eldest « foire aux santons » in Provence. The « foire aux santons de Marseilles » is opened every year, from November’s last Sunday till the 31st of December, which takes place on the Meilhan avenue, in the upper part of La Canebière main street.
